This was my first experience with Little Owls. This male was actively hunting throughout the day, often going to the fence for a short while after leaving the tree. He was never still for long, so I took advantage of times when he was to get some portrait shots.

I was fascinated by his eye that appeared damaged, I think it gives him much more character and personality, so I liked the shots I got with him looking directly at the lens.
